Zapier’s Introduction to APIsZapier has done a great job putting together a course introducing APIs. It is perfect for those just starting their API journey and covers protocols, data formats, API design, authentication, real-time communication, and implementation.
Entrepreneurship and APIsIf you are looking for an easy read about how important APIs are in entrepreneurial endeavors, I wrote an explanation on the topic a few weeks back. It briefly introduces some important business benefits of APIs, and why upcoming business builders should be learning and using this technology.

API AcademyAPI Academy provides free online lessons and in-person consulting services that cover essential API techniques. This useful resource provides business managers, interface designers and enterprise architects with some important knowledge. The growing repository is one you will want to revisit every so often.
API Evangelist’s WhitepapersKin Lane’s white papers on the basics of APIs, their history, and how to deploy and manage them are a useful collection of resources. He has also just released one on API design that is worth checking out.
News from ProgrammableWeb
If you want to keep up to date on API news and information, subscribe to the ProgrammableWeb.com news feed. They have daily updates about the latest API scoops. They also have the world’s largest API directory and search engine. If you want to get the word out about your API, getting it listed there is a smart idea.
API Industrialization by Accenture
This informative white paper demonstrates how to deliver differentiated APIs. It explains how to use them to scale and capture new opportunities. If your organization is transforming itself into a platform, Connecting the Digital Ecosystem will provide useful insights.

API Testing DOJOAPI testing is an important part of the development process, and it is essential to hone this skill. Just as Gaudí had multiple tools, so will every API practitioner. Testing is an important one. To help you improve these abilities, check out the API Testing Dojo. It provides API developers with resources that help determine if their services work as required.
APIUXFor an interesting point of view, check out APIUX. This blog examines APIs from the usability perspective of API developers. As Ronnie Mitra has explained during past Nordic APIs events, this focus is essential for successful API adoption. The articles, product reviews, and guidelines from APIUX are a great resource to learn more about developer experience.

API Magazine
Manfred Bortenschlager curates a collection of ideas and articles that revolve around APIs, developer evangelism, mobile app strategies, and ecosystem dynamics. His assembly of various gems provides a useful anthology of API info.

Never Be Like A Boiling Frog

4/5/2015

Once up on a time there fell a frog in a vessel of water that was just put to boil. As the temperature of the water began increasing, the frog adjusted itself as it has the capacity to do so. The time passed on and when the water is about to reach the boiling point, the frog was not able to adjust any further and decides to jump out of the vessel. Having lost all of its strength during the phase of adjusting, in vain the frog dies.

Do you think the frog died because of boiling water? Nooo! The laziness in not taking the proper decision at proper timing and inability to anticipate what is going to happen in couple of minutes made the frog die.

# Know Object-oriented programming languages: It is advisable to be well-versed in languages like Java, C++ and Python. Try Edx that are also offered by MIT and Udacity.

# Learn additional programming language: Add Ruby, Java Script, HTML and CSS to the list. Online resources like CodeAcademy and Ws3chool are useful.

# Learn to fix bugs: Google has stated that it wants you to be able to "catch bugs, create tests, and break your software." Udacity, again, is a good platform for individuals to learn.

# Understand abstract math: Computer Science draws on a lot of branches of math, like logical reasoning and discrete math. MIT also offers online courses in these topics that can be pursued to strengthen one’s chances to get a good job at Google.

# Grasp fundamental algorithms and data structures. Google wants its engineers to be familiar with fundamental data types like queues, stacks, and bags, and also sorting algorithms like quicksort, mergesort, and heapsort. The book ‘The Algorithm design manual’ is very useful, as are online recommended topics for Google aspirants by universities like MIT.

# Learn to work with different operating systems. Operating systems are the base of a computer and are where most code gets written at Google. There are several varied types of operating systems; some are proprietary and some are open source and code has to be built specifically for each. The University of California, Berkeley, provides a primer.

Zakath Calculator

One of the most important principles of Islam is that all things belong to God, and that wealth is therefore held by human beings in trust.

When is Zakat Due ?

  1. Passage of One Lunar Year: Zakat is obligatory after a time span of one lunar year passes with the money in the control of it's owner. Then the owner needs to pay 2.5% (or 1/40) of the money as Zakat. (A lunar year is approximately 355 days).

    2. Deduction of Debts: The owner should deduct any amount of money he or she borrowed from others; then check if the rest reaches the necessary nisab, then pays Zakat for it.If the owner had enough money to satisfy the nisab at the beginning of the year, then the money increased (in profits, salaries, inheritance, grants...etc.), the owner needs to add the increase to the nisab amount owned at the beginning of the year; then pay Zakat, 2.5%, of the total at the end of the lunar year. (there are small differences in the fiqh schools here)

Each Muslim calculates his or her own Zakat individually. For most purposes this involves the payment each year of two and a half percent of one's capital.

A pious person may also give as much as he or she pleases as sadaqa, and does so preferably in secret. Although this word can be translated as 'voluntary charity' it has a wider meaning. The Prophet said 'even meeting your brother with a cheerful face is charity.'

The Prophet said: 'Charity is a necessity for every Muslim. ' He was asked: 'What if a person has nothing?' The Prophet replied: 'He should work with his own hands for his benefit and then give something out of such earnings in charity.' The Companions asked: 'What if he is not able to work?' The Prophet said: 'He should help poor and needy persons.' The Companions further asked 'What if he cannot do even that?' The Prophet said 'He should urge others to do good.' The Companions said 'What if he lacks that also?' The Prophet said 'He should check himself from doing evil. That is also charity.'
